Rules & Regulations
➤ ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The competition is open to any current undergraduate student enrolled in a Lebanese University from any academic background
You do not have to be in Lebanon as the event will be held virtually for the most part. (You have to be registered in a Lebanese University regardless)
If you use any fraudulent information in your application, you will be disqualified.
Each participant will have to submit their CV through our registration link and pass the CV Screening to compete. The CV Screening does not require any previous experience.
➤ TEAMS REGISTRATION FORM
You are required to form a team of 3-4 members.
The members of the same team can be from different universities and different majors.
Each team must appoint a Team Captain who will be responsible for communication between the team and the case competition organizers. The Team Captain is one of the members of the team.
The team will be assigned a team ID to be used in all stages after team registration.
Each participant will be assigned a participant ID.
Only qualifying teams will proceed to the official competition days.
➤ QUALIFYING CASE AND QUALIFYING PROCEDURE
All registered teams will receive a Qualifying Case. The case prompt will be sent via email to each team and made available on your virtual profile.
Each team must properly solve the case and submit via email within the specified dates. 1 case solution per team.
Our Judges Panel compromised of consultants will correct the anonymous submissions from the teams. All team specific information is kept confidential and the assessing team will receive anonymous submissions. Each case is corrected twice to ensure a fair assessment.
➤ MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
Contact between the consultant mentor and the team is done solely through a Case Team member.
Direct contact with the consultant is forbidden during the competition, or else it can lead to the disqualification of the team.
➤ COMPETITION
Once each case is distributed, teams must abide by the given deadline and requirements. All work presented must be solely that of the participating team members. Outside research is allowed.
All work must be done by the team solely. Should a third-party solve the case on behalf of the team, all members of the team will be immediately disqualified.
Each case will be presented and corrected according to each Partner. Each Partner presents their own unique case and requirements. Partners will correct and announce their finalists. Teams will be judged on their quantitative, qualitative, analytical, organizational, and presentation skills.
LAU Case Competition organizing teams are not held responsible for the decision making for the partners' cases nor the success or failure of any team.
After finalists for each Partner are announced, said finalists are to present their pitch to the Partners.
The awards will be distributed during the Award Ceremony. Further information will be given beforehand.
➤ CERTIFICATES
All participants are eligible for an LAUCC Academy Workshop Certificate if they attended all 3 workshops presented before the qualifying case.
If an individual is unable to attend one of the workshops for a valid reason, their case will only be looked into if they inform the team via email before the workshops, along with the necessary evidence.
Individually, all participants will receive a participatory certificate as long as all cases were completed and submitted. If any individual could not participate in all cases, a case by case situation will be looked into as long as
Reason is submitted in writing to the competition organizers via email with the necessary evidence, at which the organizers will determine if the exception is allowed.
Teams that did not pass the qualifying stage will not receive a participatory certificate.
Winners will receive a winning certificate individually per team member.
